Games to Play In Line - Part 1
By: Sarah McClure “Fortunately, Unfortunately”It begins like this…one person states an obvious fact. Others follow alternately with either negativity (unfortunately) or positivity (fortunately!)
- Dad: “Fortunately, we got FastPasses for this ride!”
- Mom: “Unfortunately, we missed our time slot.”
- Daughter: “Fortunately, we were able to see the parade instead!”
- Son: “Unfortunately, it is very crowded.”
- Back to Dad: “Fortunately, we are at Disney and NOT home cooking!”
- Mom: ”Unfortunately, I am hungry now that you mentioned cooking…”
- And so on…
You may notice others around you start playing as well! Before you know it, you are first in line or the show is ready to begin!Word Hot PotatoWhat you need: Make sure you have some sort of timer for this one.How to Play: Have a person pick a topic (Disney movie titles, Disney characters, Disney songs, Disney attractions, etc.). Once the timer starts, each person names something from the topic. For example, for Disney movie titles, person number one says “Dumbo,” person number two says “Aladdin,” etc. T he last person to name a Disney movie (no repeating, of course) before the timer goes off wins.A to ZHow to play: Take turns naming Disney characters from A to Z . Person number one has A and says “Aladdin.” Person number two must say “Aladdin” and a character starting with B. As you go along, you have to remember all of the characters from A to Z . You can choose other topics, or name off items you need to bring to Disneyland next time. “I’m going to Disneyland, and I’m going to bring an annual pass, banana, coupons, etc.”I SpyHow to play: Just as you played as a kid, I spy is a fun game for Disneyland’s queues. Don’t pick moving targets. Say, “I spy with my little eye something red,” for example. The first person to guess what it is wins and gets to say, “I spy” next.20 QuestionsHow to play: One player thinks of something and gives a clue. The clue could be a Disney character. The second player must guess the character with 20 questions or less. If you’re thinking of something easy, play 10 Questions or 5 Questions. The questions and answers need to be in a yes/no format.Find as Many People With…How to play: It’s fun to count how many people are wearing a certain thing or have a certain style haircut, etc. Count how many people wearing Mickey Ears, Disney pin lanyards, carrying a backpack, wearing flip flops, pushing a stroller, and so on. Try to beat your last score each time you go.AlliterationsSimilar to rhyming games, this time you’re matching the beginning sound with Disney characters, places, attractions, etc. Baloo, Beast, Be Our Guest, Bambi, Belle …"Who Am I?"You describe somebody or something like this:

- etc.
It works for places, people, food ...Ghost WordForm a chain of letters to create a word in this thinking game for kids who like spelling. Players take turns adding letters.
