Get Pampered in Paradise at Sandals Emerald Bay

Tiffini HensleyJanuary 31, 2017Are you looking for a resort that is located in paradise and has it all?! If so, then Sandals Emerald Bay, located on Great Exuma in the Bahamas, may be the perfect resort for you!EmeraldBay-RoomThe resort itself is located approximately 20 minutes from the airport, and is situated on its own private beach overlooking the turquoise waters that Exuma is known for.The moment you arrive at this all Club Level resort, you start getting treated like royalty. Immediately after exiting your resort-included airport transportation, you are handed a cool towel and an ice cold cocktail. You are then lead to the Club Lounge to begin your check-in process. Once complete, you are then given a brief tour of the property and shown to your room. Sandals Emerald Bay offers 21 categories of rooms that either fall in the Club Sandals or Butler Elite levels. Room views can vary from garden view to ocean view.  No matter what level of room you decide on, you will still receive amazing service. If you’re looking for a little something more, book your stay in one of the Butler Elite rooms, where you will have a professionally trained butler at your beck and call for your entire stay.EmeraldBay-BeachOnce you’ve had the chance to unpack and freshen up, you’ll be ready for the fun to begin. One of the greatest perks to staying at a Sandals Resort is that all water sport activities are included, and with a beach as beautiful as this one, you’ll want to spend some quality time here in a comfortable lounger, with a fabulous drink in hand. Besides relaxation, there are many water activities to choose from, such as kayaking, wind sailing, snorkel boarding and water trikes. Additionally, there are daily snorkeling and diving excursions to enjoy. For those who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground or in a pool, there are tons of other activities available, including but not limited to volleyball, lawn chess, croquet, billiards, bocce ball, bicycling, tennis and more!If you’re a golfer, then this resort is a dream come true, with an on-site Greg Norman designed course offering spectacular ocean views.  For those who are looking to be a bit more pampered, the Red Lane Spa has many options for you to indulge in. I personally opted for the Raindrop Dreams massage, which included a 90-minute aromatherapy massage. Let me tell you, if you’re looking for pure relaxation, then that is the massage to choose!EmeraldBay-golfThe food and drinks! Sandals Emerald Bay offers a wide variety of dining choices to suite anyone’s tastebuds. My personal favorites for breakfast, lunch and dinner were il Cielo (fabulous Banana French Toast), Barefoot by the Sea (amazing fish tacos and conch chowder) and Drunken Duck (every single thing on the menu is fabulous!), respectively. Besides the six restaurants full of delicious food, there is also Café de Paris, which offers scrumptious pastries and desserts, along with your favorite coffee drinks. Even better is to try the 24-hour room service, included with your stay.EmeraldBay-PigsAt night, after you’ve indulged in your favorite food and drinks, head over to the piano bar outside of il Cielo or to the Drunken Duck for fun entertainment. For those looking for a more and romantic activity, take a night-time stroll on the beach, take advantage of one of the hammocks on property to relax under the stars, or breathe in the tropical sea air in the Zen Garden. With so much beauty and fun on the resort, you may wonder why anyone would want to leave the property, however Island Routes offers a few amazing tours, including the Exuma Cays Ocean Safari, where you get the chance to swim with the world famous swimming pigs!To sum up, Sandals Emerald Bay is a beautiful resort, offering breath-taking views of the turquoise waters Exuma is known for. Amazing service, delicious food and drinks, fun activities and a laid back atmosphere make this resort truly a beach lover’s paradise! If you’d like to see additional pictures and videos from my visit to Sandals Emerald Bay, please check out my Facebook page, www.facebook.com/thensley.wft.
