Le Cellier - A Fabulous Dining Experience

By: Becky CriswellEveryone has a favorite restaurant, a favorite dish, and in my case a culinary experience I will never forget. Fourteen years ago, I dined at Le Cellier in Epcot for the first time, and I have made it a point to return during every Walt Disney World vacation. The atmosphere and cuisine are sure to please, and my most recent experience lived up to my expectations once again.Le Cellier is located in Canada, around Epcot’s famous World Showcase. The restaurant is designed to represent a wine cellar, providing a dim yet romantic atmosphere. New to Le Cellier is the unique “light-up” menus, so no complaints about not being able to see!DSC_0015To start off your meal, your server delivers a basket of assorted breads. This includes my personal favorite, the pretzel breadsticks! They offer a variety of appetizers. I have ordered the mussels and they were out of this world! I have not personally tried the Cheddar Cheese Soup but it is one of their most popular offerings. Now on to the entrees. I’ve never ordered anything but the filet mignon. I have no reason to try anything else. This succulent piece of meat is always cooked to perfection. It literally melts in your mouth. It is served over a rich and creamy mushroom risotto which perfectly complements the filet. I’m drooling just thinking about it!DSC_0019My husband, who also loves the filet, ventured out and ordered the 14oz. Rib-Eye on our last visit. Again, this dish did not disappoint. It was served with roasted fingerling potatoes and topped with garlic butter. Everything about the dish was delicious! However, I wouldn’t order it unless you have a hearty appetite, as it was one big piece of meat!If you are not a big meat-eater, no worries! Le Cellier offers a variety of dishes, including pork, lamb, chicken, salmon, and wild mushroom ravioli. As I glanced at the tables around me, nothing looked less than absolutely delicious!Last but not least are the desserts. While the dessert selections at Le Cellier are not among my favorite Disney sweets, they offer a wide variety that is sure to please every palate. My personal favorite is the Maple Crème Brule. The unique maple flavor is delicious and the perfect end to my stellar dining experience! It can be difficult to get a reservation at Le Cellier, so if you are interested in trying it for yourself, let your travel agent know so they can look for your dining reservation as soon as possible, and don’t forget to eat some for me when you are there!
