Quick Service Dining at Walt Disney World

On my last trip to Walt Disney World, I decided that my husband and I would opt for the quick service dining plan. We have always purchased the Disney dining plan that includes the table service meal, so this was going to be an adjustment. Before I get to the food portion of this blog, I want to say that we loved the quick service option. It was nice to not be on such a tight schedule and we were really able to go with the flow during the day. When we got hungry, we ate! No reservations required!

There are several quick service restaurants that I would recommend for you to try on your next visit. Sleepy Hollow in the Magic Kingdom did not disappoint. The waffles & chicken had just the right amount of spice and sweet and melted in your mouth. Another favorite was their hand-dipped corn dogs with homemade potato chips. I have to say that I am not a big corn dog fan, but these juicy, crunchy frankfurters on a stick were delicious! While still in the Magic Kingdom, we wanted to try a dessert that we had never tried before. We went over to Gaston's Tavern for an Ooey-Gooey Cinnamon Roll that took three of us to finish. If you are a fan of cinnamon rolls, you must give them a try!

At our day in Epcot, the abundance of great choices made it hard to decide what to eat. We were looking for something to share, so we chose nachos at La Cantina de San Angel in the Mexican pavilion. They were loaded down with crispy tortilla chips, spicy meat, sour cream, guacamole, and tons of cheesy goodness! We then strolled down to the opposite end of World Showcase to try some delectable desserts. France's Boulangerie Patisserie les Halles had chocolate mousse to die for! It was so rich and creamy I could hardly stop myself. You definitely have to stop by this bakery on your next visit.

Resort hopping is a fun thing to do outside of the parks and there are plenty of yummy restaurants to try. Since I am from Louisiana, we went to Port Orleans-Riverside Resort to see if their food was comparable to ours. I was pleasantly surprised! The food not only looked appetizing, but tasted even better. I ordered a flatbread pizza that was bursting with toppings and flavor. My husband opted for a more southern route with roast beef, mashed potatoes, and green beans. He was pleased with his food choice as well. The menu boasted tons of authentic Louisiana food choices and if our food was any indication, it should all be tasty. I would definitely recommend a trip over to Port Orleans-Riverside Resort if you are looking for some great southern food!

There are so many quick service choices for both food and desserts that I feel you could go this route and never eat the same thing twice. It was a great alternative for us on our adults only trip. I would say that if you have not tried it and you are wanting a little more freedom for your next trip, give quick service restaurants a go!
