Relaxing at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Quiet, calm, and relaxing are not the first words that come to mind when visiting Walt Disney World in Florida. But as my family and I stayed at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, those three words were repeated constantly during our trip. I cannot wait to share why this resort has become my family’s now first and favorite choice.

Atmosphere

Inspired by the National Parks, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge boasts intricate woodwork, winding walking paths, and rustic elegance. Upon entering the breathtaking lobby, you will be greeted by two 55-foot-tall totem poles, 4 large tipi(tee-pee) chandeliers, and an 82-foot-tall stacked stone fireplace recreated to look like the strata of the Grand Canyon. At the end of the day, my family and I found ourselves rocking away, admiring the beauty of the resort.

Dining

My family and I like to hit the ground running each morning, so Roaring Fork was perfect for grab and go items. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is served daily. I highly recommend trying the Campfire Cupcake, you will not be disappointed!

Geyser Point Bar and Grill is located poolside offering food and spirits while overlooking Bay Lake. If you are looking for a picture-perfect meal nestled within the resort’s beauty, this is the perfect place. Best part? No reservation needed.

Whispering Canyon Café serves all-you-care-to-enjoy skillets where Cast Members can be found horsing around and sassing customers. Moseying into this log cabin inspired restaurant, you will find house-made buttermilk-cheddar biscuits, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, and Mickey waffles for breakfast. Oak-smoked mustard-barbecued beef brisket, braised pork belly, or house-smoked salmon for lunch or dinner. Reservations are encouraged.

Territory Lounge is a cozy lodge-like lounge where you can order small plates, snacks, sweets, and cocktails.

The crown jewel of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is Artist Point, featuring Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White. At this character dining restaurant, you will meet the Evil Queen, Grumpy, Dopey, and Snow White herself. Sitting in a whimsical enchanted forest you will enjoy themed savory meals, creative cocktails or mocktails, and delightful sing along music.

Recreation

There are some exciting options when it comes to recreation! My family and I love the pool. Copper Creek Springs Pool is the main resort pool featuring a heated pool, 67-foot waterslide, and a whirlpool spa. Young swimmers can explore the water playground next to the pool featuring slides, bubblers, and sprayers.

If you’re looking for a quieter setting, Boulder Ridge Cove Pool is nestled in the Boulder Ridge Villas area. Here you can enjoy a zero-entry pool, whirlpool spa, and 6 shaded seating areas.

If you have a vid kid in your party, Buttons and Bells Arcade is perfect for them! They can choose from a variety of arcade games be it testing their dance skills, car racing ability, puzzle solving, and so much more.

Looking for outdoor recreation options? You can rent a motorized boat, bike, or go fishing. You can also enjoy jogging trails, a movie under the stars, and roast marshmallows by a crackling fire.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge was a resort that my family and I have been wanting to experience for a while. I highly recommend it to anyone who visits Walt Disney World.
