Senses Spa at Saratoga Springs Resort
Rebecca Jones7.4.19If you are looking for a small piece of heaven at Disney World, may I suggest the Senses Spa at Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa? Located between the Carriage House and the DVC Welcome Center, the Senses Spa is the largest spa facility on Disney property. Whether you are looking for a mani/pedi, a seaweed wrap, or a deep-tissue massage, you can find just about every service you desire here.My husband and I wanted to have a couple hours of adult time at the spa, so we scheduled a couples’ massage. This is where we are both in the same room at the same time, but we have different massage therapists. As suggested, we arrived 30 minutes prior to our scheduled appointment, and we each were led to our own locker rooms. I was given a short tour of the facility, including the steam room, sauna, hot tub, showers, and just about every amenity you could dream of needing. I slipped into my complimentary luxurious robe and slippers then headed upstairs to the lounge. This is a co-ed location where you sit on heated bamboo loungers under fluffy blankets while you wait for your therapist to get you for your appointment. We weren’t in the lounge nearly long enough when our massage therapists, Rob and Joanna, came to get us and escort us to our massage room. Inside were two soft massage tables, each of them heated and covered in soft linens. Our therapists spoke to each of us individually and asked about any areas that were bothering us, how deep we wanted the massage pressure, and generally put us at ease about the process. They then left to allow us to undress and get under the covers on the tables. From then on, I don’t remember much, because it was honestly the best massage I’ve ever received. I was so relaxed and at ease. After our massages were over, we were escorted back to the lounge, where we could enjoy some light snacks, including Ghirardelli chocolates and complimentary wine. We were invited to stay as long as we wanted here, but unfortunately, the rest of our day was calling. So after a quick snack, we each went to our respective locker rooms again to shower and get ready for the day. Like I mentioned earlier, the locker room has all the amenities you would ever need. The spa provided the things you’d expect like shampoo and body wash, but also things like hair gel, shaving cream and razors, hair ties, sunscreen, and perfume. Other than makeup, everything I needed for the day was provided for me.On previous trips, I have also gotten manicures with my daughters at Senses. A little time here makes a great respite from the hustle of a typical Disney World vacation. I highly recommend it, and would love to work with you to create your dream vacation, including a little pampering at Senses Spa. You can reach me at Rebecca@wishesfamilytravel.com or (325) 733-8399
