Sun, Sand and Room to Spread Out

Tiffini HensleyJune 23, 2016If you are planning to take a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort with a group of six to eight people, but don’t want to deal with shoving everyone into two connecting rooms, then maybe a two bedroom villa at Disney’s Beach Club Villas is what you’re looking for.Disney’s Beach Club Villas are conveniently located within a few minutes walk of Epcot’s International Gateway and directly across from Disney’s Boardwalk. While the close proximity to the splendid restaurants of Epcot and exciting nightlife of the Boardwalk are a great draw for the adult crowd, never fear, there is the highly acclaimed Stormalong Bay to keep your kids begging for some time by the pool. The villas are available in three floor plans: The studio which sleeps 4; one bedroom, which also sleeps four; or the two bedroom villa, which sleeps eight (plus one child under age 3 in portable crib for each category). The studios are comfortably appointed with a queen bed, sleeper sofa, desk and chair, mini fridge and microwave. The one bedroom villas include a full service kitchen complete with stove, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, and variety of kitchenware (plates, pots and pans, silverware, dish towels, etc). Also included in the one and two bedroom is a spectacular master suite. In addition to the spacious walk-in shower, you will also find a relaxing jetted tub that is a perfect retreat after a day in the parks. In the living room, you’ll find a queen-size sleeper sofa, comfortable sitting chair and flat screen TV.A two bedroom villa includes everything from the one bedroom villa as well as a second bedroom. A two bedroom villa will either be a dedicated two bedroom unit, or a one bedroom attached to a studio lock off. Either way the second bedroom will include a second full bathroom, queen size bed and full size sleeper sofa. The one and two bedroom units also include a washer and dryer combo for the advantage of washing your clothes while still on vacation. This not only helps “lighten the load” so you don’t have to pack as much for vacation, but also allows you to wash your clothes as you go, so that you don’t have as many loads of laundry when you arrive home.Although the villas are great by themselves, there are several reasons to stay at this fun resort! Here’s a list of some of my favorites at Beach Club:

  1. The restaurants! No matter what you are in the mood for, there is bound to be somewhere nearby that has it. If you’re in the mood for a juicy cheeseburger and scrumptious milkshake, try Beaches n’ Cream. For those with a big appetite for ice cream, be sure to order the kitchen sink; it is truly something to behold. In the mood for seafood? Try dinner at Cape May Café, a full service buffet, featuring all you care to eat crab legs and clam chowder. At breakfast, Cape May is still spectacular as a buffet with character! While filling up on all your breakfast favorites, you’ll also meet with Minnie and friends. If steak is on your mind, try Yachtsman Steakhouse, located next door in the Yacht Club resort. If you’re still in the mood for something else, there are still four more restaurants and lounges at the Yacht and Beach Club property, or you can take a stroll to Epcot’s World Showcase for a bite, which leads me to my next favorite at Beach Club.
  2. You are literally within a five minute walk from Epcot’s World Showcase, making it very convenient to spend the day in a different park, come back to your room to freshen up, then head to Epcot for dinner or a cocktail.image
  3. If you’re looking for entertainment, but don’t want to use a theme park ticket, Disney’s Boardwalk Resort is located just across the water (a few minute walk) from Beach Club. In the evenings the Boardwalk wakes up and transports you back in time to the Atlantic City Boardwalk of the 1920’s. You’ll find performers, games, music and restaurants.  If you’re up for it, rent one of the surrey bikes that can seat two to six, and take it for a spin around Crescent Lake.image
  4. The lobby at holiday time is breath-taking! The Beach Club is one of the Deluxe category hotels that take part in putting up gingerbready masterpieces during the holiday season. At the Beach Club they assemble a life-size replica of a carousel completely out of gingerbread.  It is not only incredible to see, but smells wonderful too!image
  5. My personal favorite - Stormalong Bay! The three-acre pool complex is shared between the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. It features a sand bottom, lazy river and pirate ship storm slide. At any given time, you can find a semi-quiet area to relax (I like to relax by the waterfall) or play games and volleyball to your heart’s content. For those with little ones, no need to worry. During pool hours, Stormalong Bay keeps a team of lifeguards on watch to ensure everyone stays safe! Be sure to grab lunch at Hurricane Hannah’s with your little prince or princess before spending some time at the pool. Their kid’s meal will come in a sand pail complete with shovel, which is perfect for making those sandcastles after lunch.

Speaking of sandcastles, the Beach Club is host to the Sandcastle Club, a fun children’s activity center. Here, parents can for a small hourly fee, drop kids age 4 to 12 off for an evening of games, movies and crafts, while the parents can either go explore the theme parks or enjoy a relaxing meal and evening without the kids.So if you’re looking for a resort that has something for everyone, and room to spread out too, Disney’s Beach Club Villas may be the perfect choice for your next dream vacation. If you’re interested in more information on the fun resort, contact Tiffini@wishesfamilytravel.com!
