The New Toy Story Land
Stephanie Peavy6.6.19I recently visited Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I have to admit that it was the busiest day I have ever encountered at Disney, but it was worth the wait. My hope is that the wait times will steadily decrease as Hollywood Studios adds more rides and experiences. I want to start off by telling you how bright, cheerful, and adorable this entire land is. When you first enter Toy Story Land, there is a huge Woody there to greet you. Make sure to stop and get your picture taken with him. The Disney photographers are there waiting. As you meander through, you first come upon Woody’s Lunchbox. This is a great quick service option for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I ate there two times and both were delicious. My first meal was the Totchos. They are basically tater tots and Fritos smothered in chili, cheese, sour cream and chives. Can you say yummy? My second meal started off with a sampling of the chocolate-hazelnut pop tart with bacon sprinkles. I then moved on to the entrée, a BBQ brisket melt sandwich. Everything was delicious.Enough about the food, let’s move on to the rides. There are two new rides in Toy Story Land in addition to Toy Story Mania which previously existed. The first new ride is Alien Swirling Saucers. It looks a little like the classic Teacups, but maybe with less spinning. I was not brave enough to tackle this, as I am prone to severe motion sickness, but my friends had a blast! I did, however, ride Slinky Dog Dash. How could I not ride the new coaster everybody has been talking about for the past year? I waited in line for two hours to ride that puppy! It was so much fun! Even though the ride itself is short, it packs a ton of energy into that minute. We soared, dipped, hopped, and even reversed. I could ride it again and again. While adventuring through Toy Story Land, you are able to catch glimpses of all your favorite characters. You can see Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the Green Army Men, just to name a few. If you are willing to stand in line, you can even get pictures with them for a great souvenir. Speaking of souvenirs, there are some stands scattered around the area with the coolest merchandise around. I could not wait to purchase some Slinky Dog ears and wear them all day!As you can see, even with the crowds in the new Toy Story Land, you will not be disappointed in all there is to do and see. So, my advice to you is, just take your time and soak up everything you can.
