A little bit of everything at Sandals Ochi
Tiffini Hensley2.23.19When many people think of a beach vacation, they think of sitting by the beach with a book in hand. However, there are many who prefer a more active beach vacation, and if you are among those people, then Sandals Ochi Beach Resort may be the perfect resort for you.
Sandals Ochi Beach Resort is located in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and is comprised of three sections; the Hillside & Great House, the Riviera Seaside and the Ochi Beach Club. The resort is very large due to this, so Sandals has added a convenient shuttle between the 3 areas (and the golf club), called the Hop. Within the resort, the shuttle runs every ten minutes, as well as at scheduled times throughout the day to the Golf Club.
Each section of the resort offers guests a different way to experience the resort. The Hillside & Great House are home to the Butler Village, including the gorgeous Romeo & Juliet Sanctuary One Bedroom Villa Suite with Private Pool. In addition, this section of the resort also includes the large activity pool and several dining options. For those who would like to visit the Red Lane Spa, there are two gorgeous facilities on-site, one in the Great House, and the other in the Riviera Seaside section. One of the more famous aspects of this Sandals Ochi Beach Resort, is that it is home to Sandals only Speakeasy bar, the Rabbit Hole. Purposely hidden away, and password protected, this bar is oozing 1920’s elegance. From the flapper dresses, to the vintage cocktails, be sure to find out the password and stop in on your next visit!
The Riviera Seaside section of the resort is home to the rooms that are closer to the traditional beach resort activities. The Aqua Center, where you can sign-up for many water sport activities is located in this area of the resort, as well as many restaurants and bars offering breath-taking ocean views.The final section of the resort is the Ochi Beach Club, where guests can rent a cabana for the day, or choose to lay in any of the numerous loungers and take in some warm, Jamaican sun!If the resort’s 16 restaurants, 11 bars and entertainment throughout the day and night aren’t enough to keep you occupied, guests are welcome to check out the nearby Sandals Golf Club, where green fees and transfers to the course are complimentary. Additionally, Ocho Rios is home to many excursion options.
Sandals Ochi Beach resort is a great choice for those wanting a more active beach vacation, where they can get to know many other vacationers. After all, this resort’s nickname is appropriately known as Sochi, the Social Ochi Beach Resort.This information was gathered while I was attending a FAM.
