Fabulous Experience at Flying Fish
Leslie DiNunzio6.16.20While in Walt Disney World for a short weekend trip and staying at Beach Club Villas, myself and two friends had a dinner reservation at Flying Fish. This was the first time at this restaurant for all of us. Wow!From the moment you enter, the subtle touches remind you you’re in a seafood restaurant. From the chandelier that looks like bubbles to the fish-scaled look flatware, it was a whimsical yet tasteful décor. This restaurant opens for dinner at 5pm. We had a 5:15 reservation and were seated promptly. The kitchen is somewhat open-air so we were able to watch the Chefs at work during our meal. Their calm demeanor during the hustle and bustle of dinner is wonderful to watch.Oh the food. Everything we ordered was wonderful. Our server, Joshua, was amazing and had the patience of a saint while we discussed and tried various wines before deciding on the perfect bottle. (we shared our positive experience and his name with a manager as we were leaving.) The meal begins with a bread service. Fresh bread infused with seaweed (sounds odd but so good!) and homemade butter with a black salt sprinkled on top. We started our meal with the burrata appetizer and the lobster bisque – so much lobster! The entrees were equally great. My non-seafood eating friend had a steak he raved about. My friend and I split scallops with scampi add-on and I ordered the mussels appetizer and split all items to try a bit of everything. The broth was amazing and we couldn’t even finish the appetizer size! There was no rushing and we were permitted to linger over appetizers and dinner, which we appreciated. This is a signature restaurant on the Disney Dining Plan and therefore utilizes two table service dining credits. The location on the boardwalk can’t be beat. If you’re a seafood fan, I highly recommend trying Flying Fish! I’d love to discuss all that’s available on the Boardwalk area at Leslie@wishesfamilytravel.com.
