Megan’s Top 10 Snacks at Walt Disney World

By: Megan KlineJune 6, 2017I am going to give you my top 10 list of the best snacks at Walt Disney World, and as a bonus, I'll explain how to get the most bang for your buck with the Disney Dining Plan (and tips on what not to do.)Ok here we go:1. Dole Whip Float: If you have ever been to Walt Disney World you have probably heard of this or have seen people enjoying them around Magic Kingdom. The Dole Whip Floats are so refreshing and perfect for a hot sunny day. You can find one at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom or the Pineapple Lanai at the Polynesian Resort. I promise once you try one you won’t leave Adventureland without one in hand!2. Mickey Pretzel and the Cheese cup: Yes, people, you can get both! I love my food Mickey-shaped and who doesn’t love a soft pretzel?! This is a perfect snack to use a snack credit on and can be found around most parks.Mickey pretzel3. Star Wars themed cupcake: These are over $5 and a great way to get more for your money! You can only find these at Backlot Express in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. My favorite is the Darth Vader cupcake - it’s a perfect blend of chocolate and creamy peanut butter.SW cupcake 4. Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich: These cookies are THE best cookies I have ever eaten! They are placed between a heaping amount of ice cream and served on a large plate. You can find them at The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor at Magic Kingdom or Tamu Tamu refreshments in Animal Kingdom. These ginormous sandwiches are over $5!5. Candy Apples: These apples look too good to eat to most! Every apple is dipped and decorated in sugar and chocolate and look like a work of art. They have apples that look like different characters and ones that are themed for each holiday or special event. Make sure to take one to go because these are perfect to share or make a great souvenir or gift.Candy apples6. A venti sized drink from Starbucks: Yes, Starbucks lovers, you can get your caffeine fix at each of the Disney parks! We all know how pricey a drink from Starbucks can be so what better way to use a snack credit!Starbucks7. Chicken Fried Rice: This one of my favorite snacks that can be eaten as a meal. You can find this to go container of Chicken Fried Rice at Yak and Yeti Local Food Café at Animal Kingdom. This is the quick service stand that is located next to the actual table service restaurant. This rice is so good and is definitely good for sharing!8. Lefou’s Brew: This drink, which costs around $5, is newer to Walt Disney World. You can find this at Gaston’s Tavern in Magic Kingdom. It’s a sweet drink that reminds you of apple cider with a hint of roasted marshmallow. Don’t forget to snag a quick photo with Gaston once you exit the tavern!9. Anything from Epcot’s Flower and Garden or Food and Wine Festivals: If you are visiting Walt Disney World during these select times you are in for a real treat! These snacks are unique and can only be found during the festival located in Epcot’s World Showcase. The fruit sushi and candied strawberries are fan favorites!10. The best for last - Funnel Cakes! Ok, I may be biased here considering I was a cast member at Sleepy Hallow but I love the funnel cakes in Walt Disney World! The sugar is sweeter and they are cooked to perfection. You can find them at Sleepy Hallow in Magic Kingdom or The American Pavilion in Epcot. Here are some mistakes you should avoid while using your snack credits on the Disney Dining Plan.1. Not using all of your snack credits! This one drives me crazy! You can purchase prepackaged snacks at your resort or any of the parks. These are perfect to throw in your suitcase to bring back home with you. I know after I leave Disney I’m immediately missing Disney, and it’s nice to have the family enjoy a mickey cookie or candy at home to lift our spirits.2. Using your snack credits on bottled water or pop. Water is FREE in Walt Disney World; you can ask for a cup of ice water at any quick service location that serves fountain drinks. We always refill our water bottles with ice water and never worry about drinking pop unless it comes with our meal.3. Not sharing your snack credit: My family loves to try as many new or favorite foods while in WDW. Whatever snack we get we all try and then we are satisfied until our next meal that day.Contact Megan here to talk more about the Disney Dining Plan!
