Wander on in to the Nomad Lounge

By Rebecca Jones9.6.18When you visit Animal Kingdom park at Walt Disney World, you’ll likely need to rest your feet after standing in line for Flight of Passage. Lucky for you, on your way back to the Tree of Life, you’ll find the Nomad Lounge to your left. This lounge is located next to Tiffin’s, the signature dining location with three rooms honoring Asia, Africa, and exotic animals, and features a traveling theme, which I just loved. Some friends and I stopped in here for a quick bite to hold us over until our dinner reservations later in the day, and Nomad Lounge did not disappoint! There are several places to relax, from a long, counter-height table that seats larger parties, to cushioned chairs and sofas (available both inside and out on the long “porch”), as well as bar seating. We walked in and found seats at the bar, ready to check out both the menu and the décor.f-26-19-11804511_VCzw6vnE_IMG_4744Let’s start with the menu. There is a limited small plate menu, and an extensive selection of alcohol. We ordered two small plates to share among the three of us, and it was just enough to help us make it to dinner. We chose the Tiffin’s Bread Service and the House-Smoked Kobe-Style Brisket Poutine.f-26-20-11804511_Bxu6ROt3_IMG_4738There were three types of bread, with three sauces. They were Tadka (made with an Indian cooking technique using mustard seeds and cumin), Black-Eyed Pea Hummus, and a creamy Zhoug Yogurt. They were all delicious, although I preferred the Hummus. My friends chose beer flights, while I had a cocktail called a Leaping Lizard, which had Malibu Pineapple Rum with various fruit juices. Of course, it was pretty tasty.f-26-14-11804511_yrbKVOVg_IMG_4739The décor spoke to this travel agent’s heart. There were large banners hanging from the ceiling, and they featured artwork with questions such as, “Where will you go next?” or “How has travel changed you?” In a nice addition, guests are encouraged to get a tag from a Cast Member and write their answers on them, to be added to a “chandelier” hanging above the bar. I loved the wanderer theme of this lounge, and could likely spend a lot of time here.f-26-15-11804511_yy7bqCa2_IMG_4741I was immediately comfortable in the Nomad Lounge, and I encourage you to stop in next time your journeys take you to Animal Kingdom.
